Summer is over and winter will soon be here…

September 3, 2010

Finally after a few months break I am back to blogging. It’s been a wild and crazy summer! For many weeks we literally suffered with over 98 degree temperatures and NO air conditioning!! Thankfully the autumn season is here and we’re enjoying brisk cool breezes and cooler temps!

Nevertheless, winter will soon be upon us and no one really knows what the heating situation will be. We don’t yet know the cost of heat nor do we know if there will be enough heat. For those of you unaware, the government provides the heat and what you get is what it is – nothing more and often times less. They turn it on around 15 October and turn it off 15 April. There’s no way to adjust the thermostat and get more or less. It is what it is.

Earlier this year a new agreement was signed with Russia (the provider of the gas for heat) to extend the lease for their Navy fleet to dock in the Black Sea on Ukraine’s harbor. This was supposedly done in order for gas prices to be lowered and the supply increased. Now it looks like it was all a ruse. I encourage you to read the attached article and form your own opinion. Gas Situation in Ukraine

Keep this situation in prayer please. Heat costs are very high and we are looking for people to help sponsor the winter season of 6 months of heat. The amount is shocking so I won’t post it here but if you are interested please email me or post a comment to this blog. Thank you!! God bless you and may God bless Ukraine!
